Though it started life as a shot-for-shot remake of the beloved British mockumentary, the employees of Dunder Mifflin soon took the American version off in its own brilliant direction.
The Office is now the most streamed show in history. Perhaps it's that idea of beauty in ordinary things that keeps people coming back for more? Or do we simply want to fall in love with Pam and Jim all over again? Maybe it's because we've all worked with a Michael or a Dwight or a Toby? Or are we confused by Creed, screaming at Kelly to stop getting back with Ryan, or delighting in Darryl's climb up the corporate ladder?
Filled with pranks, romance, banality, and comedy, The Office is many things to many people. And isn't that kind of the point?
